The California Castle Sessions

Our first episode filmed in the CASTLE in Southern California launches this morning and there are many folks to thank.

First, Hali Hicks sets the bar high for our Castle sessions with her “straight from the country charts” single, “Last Night of Spring” and one of her follow up singles, “Porch Swing.” We also captured a performance featuring Hali singing “Today is My Day” with our own, Food Taster Trey, on percussion. We’ll save that for an encore episode over on our You Tube channel.

Pizza Corner in Brea, CA. shared their HUGE 28″ wheel of cheese & goodness as a “starter” for Hali’s episode, but the real GRUB-star of Hali’s episode is Bacon Mania Food Truck. All BACON, all the time, and slung by one of the biggest personalities in the biz, JAY. (He deserves his own show!)

Vida at Hippie Chick Couture gets special thanks for suppling some So-Cal-inspired style to Hali and others during our Castle shoot. Also thanks to Rob at 714 Media for that connection!

And did we mention beer?! Bootlegger’s Brewery is a Fullerton, CA success story in the making, and we are thankful to Morgan at Inside Fullerton for introducing us to owners, Aaron and Patricia. Your generous support and supply of Bootleggers finest kept all the artists and crew quite happy and motivated during our shoot.

Our hosts ASAP Tire provided the estate location which included – really – a fully functioning, two-story CASTLE (below) which was perfect for recording the amazing performances we captured all weekend long during the 2012 NAMM Show.

Ultimately, Gigging & Grubbing is all about discovering the best LIVE singer-songwriters and their favorite food on tour, so we’ll forever be indebted to all the talent – both musical & culinary – that keep us on a never-ending tour to enjoy the ORIGINAL SOCIAL NETWORK: a great night out over a shared meal and live concert.

On with the shows!
